power prospecting systems
in place. And you are now attracting your prospects. Who are you going to call? Call Ghost Busters…? NOoooo. You are either going to have your automated followup system in place or you are going to sink in a sea of once-off calls and emails that will get you in such a mess and you will never follow up anyone. When those prospects start appearing, your job will be to develop a relationship so they know, like and trust you. No, this is not an opportunity to revert back to the old; ‘vomit your opportunity all over them’, that does not work here either. What is follow up? Here is a clue: People do business with, and refer business to, people they know, like and trust. Bob Burg - Endless Referrals Here is another clue: Sales Statistics 48% of sales people never follow up with a prospect. 25% of sales people make a second contact and stop. 12% of sales people only make three contacts and stop. Only 10% of sales people make more than three contacts. 2% of sales are made on the first contact. 3% of sales are made on the second contact. 5% of sales are made on the third contact. 10% of sales are made on the fourth contact. 80% of sales are made on the fifth to twelfth contact
Follow up is your relationship building process. I learned this from my own MLM Mentor, a multi million dollar earner who coached me to my first significant success many years ago. He was a master of follow up. He would build relationships with his team members so that each of us felt he was our best friend. Indeed, he has proved to be a best fried over the years even though we have no business relationship these days. When the company we were building folded (as unfortunately, too many do) he went on to succeed in pretty much any opportunity he chose to run with. Why? Because he had developed great relationships. I know, like and trust him, as do hundreds of thousands of other network marketers. If I get a call from my mentor about a new company, I ALWAYS listen. As do thousands of his good friends. There are always enough people who know, like and trust him to put him in the top income spots within weeks of a start up. Wouldn’t you like to be in that position? Of course you would! And the day I realized that follow up was my weak link and I found my first automated followup system was the day I became a leader. By now the internet is in full swing, and there are plenty of online followup tools available to make any of us masters of the relationship building process.
