What Is A Life Coach?
What Is A Life Coach? Well, before I give my definition of life coach, let's start with what a life coach is not.
- A life coach is not a therapist trained to help someone understand the effects of their childhood on their current behavior and attitudes.
- A life coach is not a best friend, there to tell someone what they really want to hear or to validate their own thoughts and feelings.
A life coach sits in between those two extremes. They are there to help their client focus on their ultimate dreams and goals and steer them in the direction of success. It has nothing to do with childhood wounds or a bunch of psychological babble and at times it will require telling the client the opposite of what they really want to hear.If a life coach starts exploring the past, the focus on the immediate goals is lost and little progress is made. If the life coach holds back and is less than honest with the client about what they need to change to get where they want to be in life, then that client will fail miserably and demand their money back - and rightly so! What Is A Life Coach? - In a successful life coach career you are essentially that: a coach! A coach is there to give tons of advice, knowledge, and support, but also to put the client back in touch with reality and on the right path whenever necessary. Before you invest in training take a moment to get clear on what you want to achieve with your
life coach education.
